International projects promise great rewards but also carry
significant risks. Impressive cost savings, access to new
ideas and expertise, and exposure to new markets provide
powerful incentives for companies to forge new partnerships
with overseas employees and distant companies. However,
projects operating in this new environment often face
unfamiliar and unanticipated challenges. Failure to address
these challenges results in failed projects, strained
relationships, and damaged careers.
The good
news is that it doesn’t have to be
that way. This session provides you with the ability to
anticipate and address the special challenges of project
management in international settings.
Specifically you will learn how to:
-
Adapt
project planning and initiation to the special
challenges of international work
-
Build
and manage communication systems that work across
different cultures, language and time zones
-
Avoid
the confusion and delays caused by cultural differences
in work practices and relationship rules
-
Create
local ownership for foreign teams and maintain critical
project alignment around tasks, deadlines, and work
standards
-
Design
and manage projects to meet the challenges of remote
management
Invite
your whole team to join you - the fee is the same as long as
you are on one line, just put it on speakerphone!
