Ionis International |
With
its enormous population, low labor costs, and expanding
economy, China represents staggering potential business
opportunities for Western firms. But according to leading US
- East Asian relations expert, David Everhart, these
opportunities can be blown by making one of
the following common mistakes:
-
Executive team builds
an inflexible strategic plan for China before
understanding the business environment.
-
Not enough homework.
-
Time horizons are too
short.
-
Not spending enough
time negotiating.
-
Choosing the wrong
investment vehicle, location, or partner.
-
Not understanding how
to motivate, mentor, and train Chinese employees.
-
Poor cross-cultural
communication skills.
-
Not trusting your
Chinese colleagues.
-
Your motives are
tactical, the Chinese partner's are strategic (or vice
versa).
-
Not spending enough
time and effort building relationships.
To find
out how to avoid and/or correct these mistakes, plan on
joining this 90 minute audio
session led by David Everhart on Wednesday, June 29, from
1-2:30 pm ET.
The
session will include a 60-minute presentation with frequent
opportunities for questions & answers.
